A vocoder is a musical device that constantly analyses the tonal qualities of an audio input and applies those qualities to a second signal. First introduced in 1978 and notably featured on Giorgio Moroder's E=MC², this iconic model has been utilised for over four decades to modify vocals, manipulate synthesizers, and digitally encode audio.
