The V2 is an updated version of the original Concord Utility Buffer, now with space-saving side-mounted jacks, a white LED and support for 9 to 18 volt power. The Concorde is an active, always-on buffer that isolates your guitar's signal from a chain of true-bypass pedals and long cable runs, preserving the quality of the fragile signal coming from your guitar. Good instrument and patch cables are very important, but every device and cable acts like a small tone control, draining off high frequencies and leaving your guitar sounding dull or dark.

By design, the buffer adds no gain or equalization, yet adding one will often make your guitar sound brighter and more lively. That is simply the high end being restored that is normally lost to cable capacitance and pedal losses. Running the Concorde at 18 volts gives you even more headroom for hot pickups and active basses.

The buffer is typically best placed at the start of your signal chain, but some older style devices like wah pedals and germanium fuzz boxes may not play well with a buffer. If that's the case, put the buffer after those devices.
