The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction, it has been a unique option for discerning players and has defined PRS sound and playability.

Played by internationally renowned artists, professional musicians, and aspiring guitarists, the Custom 24 features a figured maple top and mahogany back, along with a 24-fret, 25" scale mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with the patented PRS Gen III tremolo and Phase III butterfly-button tuning machines, the Custom 24 is known for its playability, versatility, and tuning stability.

The Custom 24 is equipped with PRS DMO pickups for treble and bass, volume and tone controls, and a 5-way switching switch. The DMO (Dynamic, Musical, Open) pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products engineering team. From our hands-on research on coveted vintage pickup models to advances in signal analysis and tuning technology, these pickups incorporate every detail of the knowledge PRS has gained over the past years of research and development.

PRS DMO pickups have an "open" sound with a vocal character, meaning they deliver a clear, Pleasant tones across a wide frequency range (from bass to treble) in each pickup.

The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith introduced to the public at the first PRS Guitars Winter NAMM Show in 1985 and has been a best-selling model ever since.
