A beautiful and highly collectible Takamine guitar from the 1980s. Yes, Takamine actually made electric guitars back in the 80s! It includes its original hardshell case. Takamine's production of electric guitars lasted for only a single year, making this an incredibly rare find!

It features a stunning flamed maple top paired with a mahogany body, utilizing a neck-thru construction that provides an incredible amount of sustain.

Upgrades & Specs

Originally, this guitar came equipped with a Floyd Rose tremolo, but it struggled to stay in tune. To fix this, our luthier installed a high-quality Wilkinson tremolo paired with Gotoh locking tuners. The guitar now has rock-solid tuning stability and boasts exceptionally reliable hardware.

The pickups are original factory Gotohs and they sound fantastic, delivering that definitive, authentic 1980s rock sound. Inside, you will find premium, heavy-duty Japanese pots. The guitar weighs 3.9 kg (8.6 lbs) and features that famously fast Takamine neck profile, offering the incredible playability the brand is renowned for!

Condition & Playability

The guitar was originally acquired with a small hairline crack in the neck, but the headstock was never broken. Our luthier has professionally restored and stabilized it, and it is now barely visible.

The frets are in perfect condition, and the guitar has been fully set up and is ready to go. Sound-wise, it heavily reminds us of a vintage Ibanez Studio ST-100!
