About this listing
Seymour Duncan Black Winter 8-String Pickup Set
The Black Winter set delivers articulate, high-output aggression tailored for extended-range instruments. Designed for 8-string guitars, these pickups combine aggressive midrange presence with controlled low-end response, making them ideal for modern metal, djent, and progressive applications where clarity matters as much as punch.
Tone & Frequency Response
Each pickup is tuned with distinct resonant peaks—6.35 kHz at the neck and 6.68 kHz at the bridge—to preserve articulation across the extended lower register. The 6/6/6 EQ curve (treble/midrange/bass) balances presence without sacrificing note definition, critical for extended-range tunings where mud is the enemy.
Construction & Materials
Hand-crafted in Santa Barbara, CA, these pickups use three large ceramic magnets and vacuum wax potting to eliminate microphonic feedback and squeal. The 4-conductor wiring supports series, parallel, and split configurations for tonal flexibility.
