About this listing
This 1973 vintage Roland RE-200 is a very rare item - the pre-cursor to the venerable Roland RE-201 Space Echo. It is virtually the same, other than the fact that it uses the now-obsolete Sony RE-4 endless tape, and more importantly, the Standby switch (also footswtichable) releases the pinch roller from the tape, therefore stopping the tape when it's not needed, and preventing wear to the tape, guides, heads and capstan. For some reason Roland made subsequent models in a way that the switch only took the heads out of the circuit, but the tape kept running.Manufacturer-Roland Corporation (Japan)Date-mid/late seventiesTransport type-Sony RE tape cartridge(note: some transition models feature a free-running tape like the RE-101 / 201)Motor speed-variablePlayback heads-3Head selection-12-position dial (RE-200)Delay time short to mid-lengthInputs 5 (mic x 2, instrument, line in, from PA)Outputs 1 (with high/mid/low switch)wet output only - yes, using 'from PA' inputPinch roller- 'standby' switch disengages pinch roller from capstanTone control- 2 (treble, bass)Remote Control- yes (echo on/off)[Condition]This RE-200 is in perfect working condition and in very good condition!!This unit was professionally checked/serviced/cleaned by professional technician.Attention!!This item is 100v 50/60hz. you may need a step down transformer depending on your country.International Buyers - Please Note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
