Thanks to the strongly rounded shape, the basswood body sits comfortably against the body both sitting and standing. Wide cutaways and the bevelled neck foot also allow easy access to the high positions of the bolt-on maple bubinga neck, which, with its slim JS profile and the full two-octave range of the 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, offers the best conditions for virtuoso soloing with classical and modern playing techniques. Joe Satriani Signature pickups from DiMarzioA sophisticated pickup setup with a DiMarzio humbucker and a Sustainiac pickup is responsible for the electrical sound conversion of the JS2480 Joe Satriani Signature guitar. By using exceptionally powerful Alnico VIII magnets, the DiMarzio Satchur8 bridge humbucker has enough output to drive any guitar amplifier into saturation and elicit a smooth Distortion with a rich midrange spectrum that is ideal for fluid solo playing. The innovativeSustainiac driver in the neck position, on the other hand, not only impresses with a solid single coil sound, but also extends the sustain for long notes and chords if desired. Ibanez also equips the electric guitar with a switchable high-pass filter, which can be used to reduce the bass for a particularly defined and assertive sound.
