Based on the construction details (brace design, reinforcement plate and overall build), this appears to be an early-production Mark VI neck.
French-made Selmer Mark VI necks were never engraved with the saxophone’s serial number, so the exact production year of an individual neck cannot be verified.
The neck has had a professional reinforcement patch repair carried out by Saxpoint (Netherlands). It is structurally sound and fully functional.
I have included comparison photos next to the original neck from my own 86,xxx serial number Selmer Mark VI tenor. The construction details are remarkably similar.
In my opinion, this neck is most likely from the period before approximately serial number 120,000. Since French-made Selmer necks were never serial-numbered, this cannot be confirmed with certainty.
I have also compared both necks on my own instrument and, in my personal playing experience, this neck plays virtually identically to my original 86k Mark VI neck.
