After the last Clapton Custom sold out immediately we set out once again to find another specimen of this exclusive guitar. ...and fortunately we were successful again! So today we are delighted to offer you this "Black Beauty," a limited edition replica of the '58 model Eric Clapton bought during Cream's first American tour. This Les Paul Custom with three pickups and serial number 8 6320 was used on the album "Disraeli Gears" as well as on several tours in the '60s and '70s. In 1979 he gave the guitar to his legendary guitarist Albert Lee, who continues to draw inspiration from it and still plays it today. For the production of this limited series the Gibson Custom Shop used 3D scanning technology and ultra-precise aging techniques from the Murphy Lab to handcraft an exact clone of the legendary original. Every last detail has been meticulously recreated, from the characteristic wear marks to the unique tonal character. This Black Beauty boasts a hand-selected, one-piece mahogany body, a mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard and mother-of-pearl block inlays, 22 Medium-jumbo frets and the same neck profile as the original guitar. ...and this medium neck is incredibly comfortable and pleasant to play. Sonically, this is an enormously resonant instrument, which formidable fundamental character is perfectly conveyed to the amp by the three unpotted Custombuckers. The middle pickup has the screws facing the neck, just like the original guitar. Classic Rock sounds at their best! This Les Paul has a wonderfully crisp tone and excellent responsiveness. Superb tone and endless sustain! But that's not all! The fantastic package is perfectly rounded off with the included case candy. The guitar comes in a custom-made "Duck Brothers"-inspired case along with a second pickguard in a wooden display case signed by both Eric Clapton and Albert Lee. Also included are a Certificate of Authenticity booklet featuring a photograph of the artist taken by Chuck Stewart and a black leather strap from the "Archive Series." A top-of-the-line player or a collector's item? This guitar offers both in mint condition.
