The Roland Alpha Juno-2, released in 1985, stands out as a unique and powerful model within the JUNO family. It features a full-sized 61-key keyboard with velocity sensitivity and is capable of producing rich, thick tones using its distinct PWM and sub-oscillators. It is globally famous as the birthplace of the legendary "Hoover sound" (Preset Memory M-86: "What the..."), which shaped the history of early rave, techno, and jungle music. Countless renowned artists, including The Prodigy, have embraced and used its one-of-a-kind sound in their productions.
This unit has been serviced, including internal board replacement and component maintenance. All major functions have been thoroughly checked and are in good working order.
✅ Key Features
- Sound output OK / Alpha Dial and all buttons function perfectly
- 4 tactile switches on the left panel that were less responsive have been replaced with brand-new ones
- Internal backup battery has been replaced with a brand-new one
- The screen is clear with no missing characters or segments, providing excellent visibility (*The original backlight has dimmed due to age, but visibility remains great. Please refer to the images.)
- All keys produce sound properly, and velocity sensitivity works fine with no issues
- Due to the typical age-related wear of this model's internal key sensors, the aftertouch effect does not trigger directly from the keybed itself. However, sending "Channel Pressure" (Aftertouch) data from an external MIDI controller or DAW triggers the internal aftertouch effects 100% perfectly as intended
- The Chord Memory function registers and operates correctly
- Securely and strictly packaged to withstand shipping impacts, we will handle the shipment promptly according to the scheduled timeframe
*A slight discoloration from old tape residue is visible on a section of the panel, but the surface is smooth and flat, and it does not detract from the overall aesthetic of the instrument (Please refer to the photos for details).
