A lightweight, short-scale guitar with a fantastic tone! Attention women and those with small hands.
It doesn't have the typical short-scale feel (thin or flimsy).
I hope the video conveys it well, but it's a truly superb short-scale guitar.
Among guitars incorporating Fender's ideas, this guitar stands out with its unique arrowhead, distinctive body shape, and simple 1-pickup configuration—it's commonly known as the "Swinger."
In 2010, KAMINARI GUITARS finalized the plan for this handmade reproduction of the Swinger, and it was completed by Kunio Sugai, a Japanese builder who has been making custom guitars in the United States for over 30 years.
Finish
Sugai uses genuine nitrocellulose lacquer paint from the 1960s, which he keeps in stock. It's used from the base coat, allowing you to enjoy weather checking and color fading over time. Additionally, pinstriping by a renowned craftsman is available as an option, and the current retail price is over 400,000 yen. This is a used guitar with some dents, scratches, and paint chips.
This guitar features meticulous attention to detail in every aspect.
Bridge: The bridge, a defining characteristic of the Swinger, is currently unavailable commercially and difficult to obtain. KAMINARI GUITARS has recreated this bridge plate using a mold from the original vintage part, and it is manufactured in Japan. Furthermore, it employs a vintage-style 3-way spiral saddle. Even the set screws for height adjustment are hard-to-find inch-sized slotted screws, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail down to the last screw.
Headstock & Body: The headstock and body are precisely measured from the original Swinger, perfectly reproducing the distinctive arrowhead and attractive body shape. The body thickness has been adjusted to match that of the Mustang, resulting in a more powerful sound. The wood used is high-quality alder, seasoned and carefully selected from the American West Coast, ideal for guitars.
Neck: The neck is made of maple, and it is an early model with a short scale (current models are medium scale).
The rosewood fretboard is also of excellent quality.
