PlexiTone Lo-Gain is built around a simple idea: sometimes the most useful drive sounds live below the obvious gain range. This pedal focuses on touch, response, and feel — the kind of overdrive that enhances what your amp already does rather than replacing it.

The gain structure is voiced for low to medium drive, making it ideal for pushing an amp into its natural sweet spot or adding subtle British character to an otherwise clean tone. Single coils stay open and articulate, while humbuckers gain extra punch and definition without becoming compressed or congested.

PlexiTone Lo-Gain works equally well on its own or as part of a stacked setup. Used before another drive pedal, it adds clarity and control. Used after, it can smooth edges and add body without excessive gain. The result is a flexible low-gain tool that adapts easily to different rigs and playing styles.

Like the rest of the modern PlexiTone line, Lo-Gain uses our DC-DC converter design. While powered from a standard regulated 9V supply, the circuit operates internally at ±12V. This provides additional headroom and allows us to use the same high-quality components found in our Pro Series pedals, preserving dynamics and clarity even at higher output levels.

The layout is intentionally straightforward: Level, Gain, and Tone. No switching layers, no extra modes — just direct control over output, drive amount, and high-frequency shaping in a compact, pedalboard-friendly format.

  • Voiced for low to medium drive, perfect for enhancing your amp’s natural tone without overpowering it.
  • Preserves articulation with single coils and adds punch to humbuckers, all while avoiding compression or muddiness.
  • Flexible for stacking: adds clarity before another drive or smooths and thickens after.
  • Operates internally at ±12V for extra headroom and dynamics, powered by a standard 9V supply.
  • Simple, intuitive controls: Level, Gain, and Tone for easy, direct sound shaping in a compact format.
