Rare Clarke & Smith Type 655 Hi-Fi integrated stereo amplifier, manufactured in England in 1963.
It is a 100% tube Hi-Fi amplifier, with a stereo output of 10 watts RMS per channel.
In total it has 12 tubes, in the power circuit it has 4x EL84 properly paired together with 2x ECC83. In the pre-amplifier circuit it has 4x ECC83 tubes and 2x ECC82 tubes. The pre-amplifier circuit is shielded from the amplifier circuit, making its operation much more protected from noise.
The speaker output has an impedance selector for 4 and 16 Ohms, in addition to an external "CENTRE CHANNEL OUTPUT".
It also has dedicated inputs for: TAPE OUT, AUX, RADIO, TAPE MONITOR, MIC., EXT/CER.P.U., MAG.P.U. and TAPE HEAD.
Robust amplifier, well-built and with good sound quality, balanced and noise-free. It is 100% after general maintenance, having had the original electrolytic capacitors replaced, in addition to a "recap" of dozens of coupling capacitors, resistors, tuning of the BIOS/cathode, among other adjustments.
