Taylor 214 (2003) - satin (all solid - made in USA)

An acoustic guitar from one of the most recognizable American brands—Taylor. The 214 model features a grand auditorium body shape (an original design introduced by Taylor in 1994). Unlike the current 214 models, which are manufactured in Mexico and feature a plywood body, this particular instrument was made in the U.S. in 2003 and is constructed entirely of solid wood. Currently, the closest comparable models are the 314.

Specifications:

• solid Sitka spruce top
• solid mahogany back and sides
• mahogany neck
• Ebony fingerboard, recently fitted with Jescar frets
• new TUSQ synthetic saddle (same as the original)
• new TUSQ synthetic nut (same as the original)
• die-cast chrome tuners
• new active electromagnetic pickup with microphone installed (this design is similar to the Fishman Rare Earth Blend), with the endpin jack
• original, very sturdy Taylor case; the guitar fits snugly inside
• original truss rod adjustment key

The guitar was set up by a professional luthier; the frets, nut, and bridge were replaced. A small gap appeared at the joint between the back panels, which was also filled by the luthier.
