Very nice Dan Electro Montgomery Ward 55JDR8440 amp

This amp has a new 3 prong power cord and new leather handle.

Amp also had main filter cap installed. Amp was fully tested and works as it should.

The Montgomery Ward 55JDR8440 is a vintage 1x12" tube amplifier from the early-to-mid 1960s, manufactured by Danelectro. It is known for a "tweedy," warm, and resonant tone with a natural, pleasing breakup when pushed, often featuring two 6V6 power tubes, 6SJ7 preamps, a 6X5 rectifier, and a 12-inch speaker, creating a "Fender Deluxe killer" sound. 

• Manufacturer: Made by Danelectro for Montgomery Ward.
• Circuit/Tubes: Typically features a 2x 6V6GT power section, 6SJ7 preamp tubes, and a 6X5GT rectifier tube.
• Speaker: Often equipped with a 12-inch Rola Alnico speaker, though many have been replaced over time.
• Design: Usually features an aluminum chassis, often with a gold metal lattice grill and two channels (often labeled for instrument/mic).
• Sound: Known for excellent, warm, low-to-mid volume breakup, often compared to Tweed-era Fender amps, with a "tweedy" overdrive.
• Modifications: Due to their age, many units have had electrolytic capacitors replaced for safety and reliability (recapped).
