Up for sale is this pair of Urei La-4’s. They have consecutive serial numbers, which is hard to come by (Meaning they were purchased at the time as a pair at Urei). The units are currently set in US mode (110V) and have US three-prong std powerplugs fitted. For EU and non-US buyers : the unit can be switched to 240V but you’ll need to purchase and install 1/8th amp slo-slo fuses to handle the higher voltage. Now the most interesting stuff: both units have the “Eddie Ciletti” op-amp upgrade, which turns the “meh” sound of a std La-4 to a much more usable and musical “wow” unit, when pushed. The op-amps installed are Burr-Brown OPA2604 as can be seen in the pictures. Also note the immaculate internals of both units. The only flaws are a scratch on one of the faceplates, and the lightbulb of the VU meter that‘s defect. With the units I’ll ship a set of new lightbulbs, a pigtail stereo connector, and two 600 ohm termination resistors, depending on you gear setup. I couldn’t test the units, but they were pulled from a working environment and used in a smoke-free airconditioned studio in the US for many years.
