TOKI is a fuzz and fuzzy driver designed to deliver a wide range of textured gain sounds. Use the trim control to create “fuzz as light overdrive” sounds, hit both bright switches for some 70s glam riffs, find somewhere in between where you want to hang out. Discrete front end and IC back end for a versatile hybrid-fuzz experience. TRIM is a passive pad at the beginning of the circuit. CMP is a capacitor load control that can tweak the top-end of the signal. PAD is a passive pad between discrete gain stages. GAIN adjusts the drive of the second discrete gain stage and LEVEL is the final output control.

With the Toki, you have three different stages during which you can control the amount of distortion and the final character. Taking off highs at the input means you get a lot of harmonics built on the lower frequencies - amazing for Bass, Baritones Guitars, Synths, or anywhere you need SUPER thick low end and low mids. Cutting the lows at the input of course does the opposite - it keeps low frequencies tight and let's the mid and high frequencies become complex.

The PAD stage is simple - you can cut the amount of signal going from the first gain stage to the second. You can keep it quieter, at unity volume, or at unity with more emphasis on the highs. The Level control lets you dial this in with precision.

Finally, the last Gain stage. High Gain, Low Gain, and Bright, which seems to be a full frequency mix of the first two. This is where you can take it - especially when dialed with the proceeding stages and input Trim, from a mild drive almost like a Hotcake or a Rat turned all the way down, to I just stacked my boost, drive, and Fuzz pedals together and get anywhere from dark, smooth Muff like tones to classic Fuzz Face and splatty 60s Fuzz tones, and everything in between.

There's a certain magic to stacking different drive/gain/fuzz circuits, especially when they use different clipping types and EQ shaping, that sounds so damn good. This pedal for me easily replaces three pedals required to get that kind of sound.
