Up for sale is a Fostex 250 multitrack tape recorder in excellent working order. Units in this technical condition are getting harder to find and are becoming true collector's items.
The machine features classic analog VU meters for accurate monitoring and that vintage studio look.
The unit has just undergone a complete technical overhaul:
- New belts installed
- Tape heads aligned and calibrated
- Cold solder joints fixed
- All pots, faders, and switches cleaned (no crackles, pops, or noise)
Everything functions as it should.
Sound & Character A great unit for lo-fi, experimental sound design, electronic music, or vintage acoustic/songwriter material. It offers authentic analog tape warmth, soft compression, and character that digital plugins can't fully replicate.
The built-in preamps and EQ sound very musical on their own. You can run digital audio through the inputs to saturate cold DAW tracks, glue a mix together, or add analog color without even tracking to tape.
