This is the mid-tier model of Fostex’s XR line, and the sweet spot of the three. It runs at double speed (9.5 cm/s) with Dolby B, giving noticeably better fidelity than standard-speed portastudios, while keeping the mechanical transport and hands-on workflow that makes tape fun rather than fiddly.

Cosmetically clean for its age — light scuffs on the chassis, all faders and pots present, cassette door intact. See photos.

The rubber belts have been swapped for new ones and the head has been cleaned.
