Overview
La Baye was a very short-lived venture by start-up guitar builder Dan Helland in the late '60s. Instruments like this 2x4 Bass (also known as the 2x4 Four) were made in the Holman-Woodell factory in Kansas which also made the short-lived Wurlitzer guitars. La Baye also produced a 12-string and 6-string 2x4 guitar, though none of La Baye's instruments ever really caught on.
