About this listing
1967 Gibson ES-355 TDSV Cherry Red Semi Hollow w Original Case CLEAN VINTAGE GUITAR!
Here is a truly fantastic 1967 Gibson ES-355 TDC/SV in Cherry Red. This is an exceptionally clean example that is not too far from mint, with just a few light checking marks and a stray mark here and there.
The guitar is 100% original aside from a very nicely done professional refret. All of the original electronics are untouched, and it retains the original waffle tuners, gold Maestro tailpiece, ABR-1 bridge, and witch-hat knobs.
Like many of these, the original pickguard has suffered from off-gassing, which has caused some corrosion on the metal parts underneath and finish checking in that area. We've removed the pickguard to prevent any further deterioration.
The guitar plays and sounds exceptionally well, and the refret really makes this one a pleasure to play. The nut is the narrow late-'60s 1-9/16" width, but the neck is nice and chunky at 0.83" at the first fret and 1.00" at the 12th fret, which helps make up for the narrower nut.
Interestingly, the Gibson logo does not have a dot over the "i," but we've concluded that this is indeed a 1967 and simply a quirk as we sometimes see.
Overall, this is a clean and very original ES-355. It comes with the original hardshell case, which is equally clean.
