Overview

The Dwight Coronet was identical to the second iteration of the Epiphone Coronet produced under a different Gibson subsidiary, Dwight guitars, which was the house brand for Sonny Shields Music in East Saint Louis, Illinois. The Dwight and Epiphone Coronets have the same specs, with the exception of the branding on the headstock. Gibson would drop the Dwight branding in 1963 when they updated the design of the Coronet, moving it to the truss rod cover in favor of an Epiphone logo on the Epiphone Dwight Coronet.
