For sale the Xaoc Devices Odessa + Hel Expander module set (Silver).

Odessa is a digital oscillator based on additive synthesis. Up to 2,500 partials can be added to the fundamental tone. These layered sine-wave partials are organized into harmonics and inharmonic partials that maintain a fixed relationship to one another. With nine parameters—each featuring its own CV input—the sound can be sculpted in various ways, ranging from comb-filter-like textures to effects reminiscent of phasers and flangers. The "Voices" knob allows for the tuning of up to five voices, creating an incredibly dense and cohesive sound. Exponential FM and Through-Zero linear FM are also available.
The HEL expander module adds paraphonic 3- and 5-voice chord generation capabilities to Odessa. Each voice gets its own dedicated audio output, enabling more complex polyphonic patching.

The set includes both modules, the original Eurorack power ribbon cables, the original Odessa user manual (The user manual for the Hel expander can be downloaded from the Xaoc website) and six silver mounting screws.

The modules are sold without their original boxes.

Both modules are in like-new cosmetic condition and fully functional. I am selling them to fund the purchase of new modules.

« DESCRIPTION

Odessa:

Odessa is an additive oscillator, which means the output signal is synthesized by adding a multitude of sinusoidal components (up to 2560 harmonic partials). By manipulating their parameters it is possible to obtain a broad range of unearthly sounds as well as classic saw, square, and pure sine. Odessa offers a set of controls for shaping harmonic spectra based on number of partials and their distribution in frequency and amplitude; all of which is illustrated by a spectrum analyzer comprising 12 multicolor LEDs. The series of harmonics can be squeezed or spread apart, tilted, or pruned by a comb-like frequency response, resulting in a huge variety of spectra. Animating the comb response yields radical effects similar to flanging and phasing. All partials are frequency-related to a common fundamental and controlled by a single volt/octave input. Additionally, the signal can be trequency modulated by exponential and linear (through-zero) means. EXPANDABILITY

Hel is an universal expander module which offers paraphonic generation of 3-voice and 5-voice chords in Odessa.

Odessa also offers integration with the Leibniz Binary Subsystem. Connecting an expander like Lipsk, allows one to enable and disable the individual groups of partials as defined by the bank length parameter.

Hel is a simple, universal expander for polyphonic oscillator modules from Xaoc Devices, such as Odessa.

It allows to freely control up to five voices of polyphony via individual Volt/octave inputs. For detailed description, please refer to the manual.
