There are moments in the design studio when something stops us cold. This strap was one of those. We found a small, forgotten roll of true vintage 1970s soft velour upholstery fabric tucked away in an old automotive warehouse—exactly the kind of find we live for. Warm black velour with Linear bands of 70s beige, turquoise, and a faded sunset red, running in repeating lines like the glow patterns on a vintage TV set.

If it's sister strap the Static Age Squiggle UHF is the wild signal, Static Age Linear VHF is the broadcast—steady, hypnotic, unmistakably 1970s. It has the classic crushed velvet / velour texture people are searching for today—soft to the touch, subtly reflective, and a little bit glamorous in that analog-era way.

We paired this rare fabric with heavy-duty automotive-grade vegan upholstery vinyl end tabs, custom bronzed hardware, and our full Made-in-USA build quality. It’s the kind of strap that looks like it’s been on the road since ’76, but is ready for decades more.

This run is limited to about 150 straps total, and once this fabric is gone, that’s it—there is no re-order, no second batch.
