1997 Martin D-16T

Excellent condition featuring dreadnought body shape, spruce top with scalloped X bracing and herringbone soundhole rosette, mahogany back and sides with herringbone backstripe, tortoiseshell grain binding on the top and back body edges, tortoiseshell grain pickguard, rosewood bridge with diamond and squares inlays, one-piece mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with slotted diamond inlays starting at the fifth fret, bone nut and saddle, rosewood peghead veneer with gold CF Martin & Co logo, nickel plated open gear tuning machines with butterbean buttons, and original black Martin hard shell case. 

This 1997 Martin D-16T is in excellent condition. This guitar appears to have been exceptionally well cared for and is just very tidy (see photos). There is one very small ding on the top on the treble side lower bout. The neck on this instrument is very nice feeling with a low profile and 1 11/16” nut width. This guitar is easy and comfortable to play. The neck angle is optimal, the saddle is medium height, the top is flat and the truss rod is fully operational. This guitar has been professionally set up and it plays absolutely outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low action, no buzzing and fantastic intonation. A strap button has been added to the heel of the neck.  

This D-16T is one fine sounding guitar and, in our opinion, one of the finer sounding flattops to come through our doors recently. It has a very dry, articulate tone and thanks to its bracing and dreadnought body shape, it also has plenty of volume. As a flatpicking instrument, this D-16T excels. It has an incredibly nice, clear high end and a very round bottom end that balance very sweetly together and will also cut. As a fingerstyle instrument, it’s smooth top end and warm lows mixed with its dryness offer articulate tones with plenty of power. This is a fantastic Martin that will be well suited for any style of acoustic music. Not to mention, it was built in Pennsylvania by one of the world's finest instrument makers. Don’t hesitate on this one if you are searching for a great flattop.
