The Collings MF is a high-quality yet accessible mandolin that offers the signature quality of Collings instruments at a more favorable price. With a satin finish and understated details, it exudes an elegant simplicity, focusing on sound and build quality rather than luxurious embellishments. The fully carved Adirondack spruce top and maple back and sides are handcrafted to the same meticulous standards as Collings' more ornate models.

The MF's tone profile is warm and woody, with a balanced tone and clear projection, making it versatile for styles ranging from bluegrass to jazz. The satin lacquer finish not only enhances its vintage look but also allows the wood to breathe and resonate more naturally. Features such as the dovetail neck joint, ebony fingerboard, and bridge contribute to its exceptional playability and complex tone.

This 2022 Collings MF has very light signs of playwear in the form of lacquer that has become shiny along some edges of the body and on the back of the neck, along with a minimal imperfection in the lacquer on the tip of the back of the headstock. There are a few small dents to be found on the tip of the cutaway, but otherwise the mandolin is indistinguishable from a new instrument!
