SPL Channel One MK2 – Tube Channel Strip for Professional Recording
Description
SPL Channel One MK2 is a high-end analog channel strip designed for professional recording applications, combining a tube microphone preamplifier, compressor, limiter, de-esser, noise gate and 3-band equalizer in a single unit. It is ideal for recording vocals, voice-overs, acoustic instruments, guitars and other audio sources with maximum sound quality and flexibility.
At the heart of the Channel One MK2 is a tube-based microphone preamp that delivers rich harmonic content, excellent detail and classic analog warmth. The unit features dedicated microphone, line and instrument inputs, making it suitable for a wide range of studio applications.
The integrated compressor/limiter provides smooth and musical dynamic control while maintaining the natural character of the source material. The built-in ARC Noise Gate effectively reduces unwanted background noise without affecting signal transparency.
A dedicated de-esser section helps control vocal sibilance, while the 3-band equalizer allows precise tonal shaping. The additional FET Distortion circuit can be used to add analog saturation, presence and character to recordings.
The front panel includes a Hi-Z instrument input for direct connection of electric guitars and basses, as well as a headphone output for convenient monitoring during recording sessions.
For enhanced studio integration, the Channel One MK2 can be upgraded with an optional 24-bit / 96 kHz A/D converter and optional Lundahl transformers for additional analog coloration and premium signal quality.
