Fitted with two Gibson humbuckers, featuring a paddle headstock, and constructed from mahogany. An exceptionally rare Zemaitis piece, a true “Z”.
This guitar has clearly been played and enjoyed over the years. It is said that Zemaitis may have built this instrument using pickups he recovered from a guitar belonging to Ronnie Wood. (There is no documented proof of this, but the story has been passed along.)
Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Keith Smart, President of the Zemaitis Club.

Tony Zemaitis was a brilliant British luthier, renowned for his entirely hand-built, one-of-a-kind guitars. A self-taught craftsman, he rose to prominence in the 1960s by creating bespoke instruments tailored to each musician. Among his most iconic innovations are the famous engraved metal-top guitars—originally designed to reduce interference—as well as elaborately decorated models featuring intricate mother-of-pearl inlays. His instruments have been favored by many legendary artists, including Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards (The Rolling Stones), George Harrison (The Beatles), Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Rich Robinson (The Black Crowes), and James Hetfield (Metallica).
Today, original Tony Zemaitis guitars are highly sought-after collector’s pieces. Following his passing in 2002, the brand was revived in Japan; however, instruments built during his lifetime in London and Essex remain the rarest and most desirable.
