The many forms of Chris Benson have been compiled into one collection represented in the Idol Preamp. What began as a serial inside joke where Chris's friend Josh would sporadically send him unrequested illustrations has become a new profitable venture wherein we are working to derive maximum benefit from leveraging this lovable likeness. We are issuing these on a first-come first-served basis with no embargo. Enjoy.
We call this our Preamp because it is! The circuit is based on our Chimera 30 watt guitar amplifier, but substitutes FET transistors for the vacuum tubes. The result is an extremely amp-like and versatile clean boost/overdrive/fuzz pedal that imparts rich harmonics and a very musical EQ to your signal chain…truly a Chimera in a box!
