Highly regarded for their dumble clones, Tokyo-made Shins Music now a offers this highly controllable preamp for vintage Fender Bassman tones. This custom version has additional settings for input impedance and drive EQ (three stages).

It features a wide-range sound that combines a thick low end with a fast response. The gain is set low, so it cannot be distorted strongly by itself, but it produces a natural clipping sound like a tube amp played at high volume, so it is perfect when you want thickness and warmth in the midrange or when you want to add a sense of compression.
