Westwick Installation - Musical Instrument Line Level Interface "milli" LN10 6YY

For sale this Extremely Rare piece of professional audio equipment.

Westwick Installation, as far as I know, was a company based on UK building professional audio equipment for recording studios back in the old days.

"milli" stands for Musical Instrument Line Level Interface and is a 12-channel active D.I. box.

There are not much information about this product in the web so I can only speculate that it was build around 70s-80s in the UK.

As you see from the pictures of the interior of the machine it is very well preserved because it was in use very seldom. You can also see the fine craftsmanship.

Below I describe how it behaves using an electric bass and only regarding to my ears, I'm not a technician I did not test it electronically.

For all the channels I noticed the following with the exact same behavior:

1) All 12 channels have the same perception of intensity.

2) Some scratches were heard the moment plugs are connected either on inputs or phone outputs.

3) Volume reduction when connecting phone outputs.

4) The switches do not play a role with phone out connections, they only work on XLR outputs. This is normal because the phone outputs have a "thru" role but good to mention it nevertheless.

5) The "Earth Lift" switch did not make any change (removing or adding hum-noise) maybe because when tested at home there were not many equipment involved. At the studio with lots of equipment long ago as I recollect it behaved normal.
