The basic material composition is the same as the ESP AMAZE-AS, with an ash body and hard maple neck and fingerboard. However, it has been upgraded to a more multifunctional bass by changing the components. The tuners are lightweight HIPSHOT Ultralite® to reduce neck dive. The bridge features a GOTOH 404SJ with steel saddles. Depending on your preference, you can also string the bass from the back of the body. The pickups are custom-designed for the E-AMAZE and are ESP Custom Lab’s CL-P-J-2. With thorough shielding using the Custom Lab's unique copper foil and the use of split coils that provide hum-canceling effects, the pickups offer low noise despite being J-style.

The EQ circuit includes a special version of the IC used in the ESP HALIBUT, tuned specifically for the E-AMAZE. The volume pot doubles as a switch pot: in its normal position, it engages the active mode with the EQ circuit, but by pulling the knob, you can switch to passive mode, which bypasses the EQ circuit. Additionally, a master tone control is provided, which works in both active and passive modes. This too is a switch pot: in the default position, it uses a 0.023μF capacitor, but when the knob is pulled up, it switches to a 0.047μF capacitor.

The finish is applied without a base coat, allowing the wood grain (the grain part) to remain exposed and giving a thin layer of paint that allows you to feel the texture of the wood. The topcoat uses lacquer, which gives it a unique feel and shine.
