Very good old German violin made in 1884 by famous Klingenthal maker August Friedrich MEISEL
(1788/1858), original signed label (see photo).
In a very good state of preservation- old professionally repaired cracks on table, no damage on critical areas, some chips on varnish and other signs of regular use (see photos). Very good sound and projection, ready to play. Best tone woods, great workmanship. Fantastic instrument made like imitation of French instrument.(Best Nothern German makers often tried to imitate French style to sell their instruments for higher prices).
This violin has a great sound with outstanding resonance. It has superb projection & a fast response time.
It features a very well-balanced sound between the high & low registers.
This instrument would be suitable for professional soloists as well as for better orchestra/chamber musicians. Good player, easy to hold, very responding, made for player . LOB 35.5mm
Setup and strings are not new, but fully functional, fully ready to play, no further investments by luthier needed.
Serious offers are welcomed.
We recently tested it in a big Symphony Hall and of course it was able to fill that room easily.
