- each wah tuned by joe gagan in the final setup process, using marshall & fender tube amps with a great strat and ibanez artist classic 2 humbucker ( LP style) guitars. This assures that every italia has that near perfect 60s tone that made the early voxes famous. this is not an assembly line wah!

-  old stock US made carbon comp resistors.- modern chinese carbon comps do not sound as good!

casteldine ICAR type pot. A very durable part, which gets the true vintage tone due to the carbon construction. Modern plastic pots do not sound as warm in our tests.

note: the donor wahs are US made vox shells , 1992 through 2006. 

since this is a scratch and dent special, there will be minor finish wear and/or minor scratching in the chrome. black may have been touched up on small chips, but wah will still look 'good' to 'VG' condition. 

special note about bottom plates: I use recycled, reconditioned parts to make my products. most of my wahs ship with double thick bottom plate, up to 2.4 times thicker. I do this for strength. a relic-style tribute to vintage used gear. will contain scratches from years of use, the cosmetics are unique to each one. if you prefer a single ply, more pristine type bottom plate, please send a message at time of ordering indicating your preference.

shipping note - to save weight, we now ship our wahs with super padding but very little cardboard to save weight. this allows us to offer very reasonable shipping, keeps everyone's cost down.

tuning notes:

there is a wee treble element to the way the two volumes work. if you want more spectrum and harmonics, turn prevol UP and vol down. for a more traditional wah sound without the enhanced treble, do the reverse of that.  important to note, this affects the bass end more than anything else, with the enhanced treble. your notes will retain a little more presence or attack. in addition, you will hear a more organic guitar tone throughout the full range. the downside of the enhanced treble is that with heavy gain, you may notice you are effectively wiping out some of the bass signal as fuzz or gain are designed to really hit on mids and treb in most cases.
