The Washburn WCG66SCE is a Spalted Maple Grand Auditorium style acoustic electric guitar with a venetian cutaway for superior upper fret access. A highlight of the Comfort Series is the beveled top at the lower bout and, in the case of the WCG66SCE, the bevel becomes part of the beautiful mahogany binding. The Deluxe recurved ergonomic armrest bevel increases the playing comfort on this larger Grand Auditorium body guitar. Deluxe recurved armrest models feature additional trim and miter handiwork throughout the body and bridge.

The Deluxe Comfort Series G66SCE guitar features a solid Western Red Cedar top and Spalted Maple back and sides, mahogany/maple bound body and head stock. A solid Canadian Western Red Cedar soundboard with Spalted Maple body results in a unique and spectacular guitar. Tonally the warmth of Cedar and the focus of maple produces a well balanced, elegant, and distinctive voice. The satin finished mahogany neck has an Ovangkol fingerboard devoid of inlays and in tandem with the mahogany bound Ovangkol bridge adds an aura of understated elegance. A maple/mahogany/maple strip splits the book matched Spalted Maple back as well. The Pau Ferro capped headstock features a mother-of-pearl inlaid Washburn logo and stylized "W". The Washburn Parquet style rosette is made of alternating maple and mahogany.

The Washburn WCG66SCE Spalt Maple is a fantastic sounding acoustic guitar on its own but the addition of premium Fishman electronics makes for an outstanding stage performance guitar. The Fishman Presys+ is an active preamp system for versatile amplified tonal shaping. The Presys+ also sports an integrated tuner. To assure tuning stability and accuracy the G66SCE is upgraded with 18:1 ratio tuners with Ebonite buttons. This provides for more tuning accuracy than typical tuning machines.
