Vintage Majestic 4-String Tenor Banjo – Believed 1920s – Family-Owned Instrument
We are offering a Majestic four-string tenor banjo inherited from our parents.
The instrument is believed to have been made by Puntolillo in the USA during the 1920s. The exact production year and model have not been verified.
Distinctive features include the Majestic headstock logo, decorative headstock and fingerboard inlays, a multi-piece neck with dark contrasting stripes, and an attractively figured resonator back divided into eight radial sections.
Condition:
The banjo shows age-related wear, including scratches and areas of finish damage, particularly on the resonator back and edges, along with tarnishing and wear to the metal parts. The head shows playing marks and surface wear. Please examine the detailed photographs.
We do not play the banjo ourselves. Playability, action, tuning stability and overall mechanical condition have not been professionally assessed. Setup or servicing may be required. We cannot confirm that all components are original, and any previous repair history is unknown.
No case is included.
Inspection and a play-test are welcome by appointment. Local collection is preferred. Shipping may be arranged following prior agreement on suitable packaging and shipping costs.
Additional photographs and measurements are available on request.
Private sale from a family estate.
