Shabat Guitars #006 – Early Master Hand-Built Model (2013, Stacey Blue Nitro, Alder).

For sale is an exceptionally rare piece from the early days of Shabat Guitars: Serial #006 ("Lion #2" HH).

Dated May 24, 2013, this instrument was built during the very first run of Shabat guitars—a period before the workshop expanded and incorporated CNC machinery. This specific guitar was crafted entirely by hand by Avi Shabat himself.

When asked about serial #006 recently, Avi Shabat confirmed its history:

"Oh my god!! I do [remember it]. We’re at 552 now... Before it was all hand made, now it’s CNC and hand finishing. Piece of history." — Avi Shabat

Key Specifications:

  • Serial Number: #006 (Stamped directly on the original neck plate).
  • Provenance: Includes the original signed Certificate of Authenticity dated 5/24/2013 by Avishay Shabat.
  • Body: Selected Alder wood.

  • Pickguard: Custom-shaped cream pickguard tailored for this HH layout.
  • Neck: Hand-shaped Quarter-Sawn Hard Maple with a 9.5" radius fretboard.
    • Neck Profile: Comfortable, substantial vintage profile with a generous depth that fills the palm nicely and offers solid resonance.
    • Tuners: Premium Gotoh vintage-style 3-on-a-rail tuners with cream/white buttons.
    • Frets: Jescar frets in excellent condition with minimal visible wear.
    • Nut: Genuine Bone nut.

    • Upgraded from original factory specs to a versatile set of Golden Age Parsons Street Humbuckers (Alnico 5 neck, Alnico 2 bridge). The installation and custom wiring were professionally executed by a highly respected Norwegian luthier.
    • Cream pickup rings with a standard 3-way selector switch.
    • 2 Mini-Switches: Integrated cleanly into the control plate for independent coil-splitting on each humbucker, allowing for both vintage PAF humbucker warmth and single-coil clarity.
  • Hardware: Vintage-style bridge with brass saddles.
  • Case: Ships in a solid Gator Hardcase.

Condition & Notes:

  • Finish Checking & Wear: The nitrocellulose finish exhibits breathtaking, widespread weather checking across the body. As expected from a real-deal played instrument, there are light pick scratches on the front, play wear/buckle marks on the back, and minor handling marks overall—all completely natural for a 13-year-old thin nitro finish.
  • Neck Joint Area: As shown in the detailed photos, there are standard cosmetic lacquer checking lines around the neck pocket. These are strictly in the top lacquer layer—the wood underneath is 100% solid, untouched, and structurally flawless.
  • Overall Playability: Setup is smooth, low, and comfortable across the entire fretboard.

Summary: Early masterbuilt guitars from this founding era rarely appear on the open market. Serial #006 represents a unique opportunity for collectors and players alike to own a documented piece of Shabat's early luthiery history.
