About this listing
The Santa Cruz Founder Collection 1929 000 in Mahogany captures the intimate voice and understated beauty of a classic small-body instrument. With mahogany back, sides, and top, it offers a warm, woody tone with a focused midrange, clear articulation, and an exceptionally responsive feel. The 1929 Standard color treatment, 4-inch soundhole, and 1929-style ivoroid rosette with tortoise detailing give it a distinctly vintage-inspired character.
The scalloped Sitka top bracing helps bring remarkable sensitivity and openness to the mahogany soundboard, while the ebony pyramid bridge, tortoise OOO/H pickguard, black top border, and mahogany binding complete its traditional aesthetic. Ebony bridge pins with mother of pearl dots and a matching ebony end pin add subtle refinement.
The mahogany neck features Santa Cruz's standard V profile, a 1-3/4-inch nut width, and a 25.375-inch scale length. An ebony fingerboard with no inlays keeps the appearance clean and timeless, while the ebony peghead overlay carries the Santa Cruz Script Logo in ivoroid. Waverly nickel tuners with ebony oval knobs provide precise tuning and complement the vintage-inspired appointments.
Finished with a buffed body and matte neck, this 1929 000 weighs just 3 pounds 11 ounces and comes equipped with SCGC Low-Tension strings and an SCG-000S3P case. With its light build, all-mahogany construction, and carefully voiced scalloped bracing, it delivers a beautifully immediate response and a rich, intimate voice that rewards both fingerstyle playing and expressive acoustic work.
