The Mojave MA-200 is a workhorse large diaphragm tube mic with cardioid pattern based on custom microphones that David Royer previously built for Hollywood recording studios before starting Royer Labs. Using a hand-selected, ultra-thin 1" capsule, NOS 5840 subminiature tube and a premium Jensen output transformer, the MA-200 delivers a bright, crisp sound that's well balanced by a fat and warm bass response. A fantastic vocal microphone, the MA-200 also shines on acoustic instruments, particularly pianos and orchestral strings.
