Here is for sale an exceptional and perfect matched quad of Xf2 Mullard el34. A real treasure.
ANOS = Almost NOS new. I had all these 4 tubes from new and they 've been plaid only for a few sessions. They sound like heaven. Best sounding el34 I've heard. The forever queen of el34.
test results
tube 1: 99 %
tube 2: 97 %
tube 3: 97 %
tube 4: 99 %
I planed to keep them as spare for my personal later use, but unfortunately for me I have to let them go now.
The four tubes were made in England in the Mullard factory of Blackburn, all have single getter with copper rods and welded plate.
Really like new top condition. Considered them as new with a few hours burning so premium quality quad.
The getter flash on each tube is splendid , large , shinny mirror like silver aspect.
They are super strong and tightly matched
All same exact construction with double copper post getter and O getter welded plate, black base, 10 dents spacers.
Rare opportunity to get get an xf2 matched quad in such a perfect condition.
And they all have a super strong life test on Jackon 648s even when low voltage is applied , so very robust cathode which means looong life !!
Perfect for Orange Marshall and especially vintage Hiwatt with a "fixed" or would say non adjustable bias which was calibrated for those vintage Mullard , modern production tubes often don't last very long in those vintage amp ... Vintage Mullard have no equal in tone ...
Hear and feel the difference of true vintage tubes

Life test...
The Jackson 648. It is definitely one of my favorite tube testers. While it does not employ a mutual conductance test circuit, it does use an advanced emission circuit that applies separate element voltages to each tube element, and separate load circuits are also used. “These voltages and loads have been carefully selected for each tube to meet most ideally the normal operating condition of the tube.” (Source: 1950 Jackson catalog.)
In my experience, the Jackson circuitry is very effective, and often will surprise you with accuracy that approaches Hickok’s coveted “mutual conductance” test method. ( Source tubesound web site.)
I do my best to test and describe the tubes the best I can.
Note that test results may vary from one tester to an other so this must be taken as an indication, although my Jackson is regularly tested for calibration.
