The EMT 266 X is a professional look-ahead transient limiter designed for precise and secure control of extremely fast signal peaks and steep transient edges. With a dynamic range exceeding 100 dB (actually 104 dB under optimal conditions), it is ideally suited for broadcast, disc mastering, tape duplication, and digital production environments. The look-ahead technique delays the audio signal by approximately 0.3 ms and derives the control information in advance, ensuring that the limiting process is completed before the actual peak reaches the control stage. This reliably prevents any overload at the output.
