VIDEO! 1970s MIJ Pre-lawsuit "Winner" (Chushin Gakki/Cimar-style) guitar - pro setup, player ready

Really cool “Winner” badged guitar. Made in Japan "pre-lawsuit" mid 1970s.

The “Winner” brand was a brand by Musik Meyer out of Marburg (Germany). In 1980, Meyer registered the “C.G. Winner” brand officially (Winner itself was not registered), so I think that Winner was a predecessor of it. This guitar was very likely made in the mid 1970s in Japan by Chushin Gakki.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately. Please watch the video!

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  628mm (!)

-Nut: ca 42 mm

-Weight: 3,3 kg

-Pickups: original singlecoils, measuring between 4,7 and 5k each. 3 way switch (!)

-Body: layers of laminate wood

-Neck: slim C/V-neck, probably ash with a maple fingerboard, small vintage frets.

 Condition:

-Body: good, yet a bit rocked condition with lots of dings and dongs. Larger lacquer abrasions on the back due to beltbuckle action; someone forced a different strap pin into the upper horn of the body, thereby creating a crack. This crack was glued and clamped and is fixed.

-Neck: the neck is straight, trussrod works, the frets are in good condition (8/10). There is little to no buzz.

-Head: good condition, no breaks

-Hardware: some signs of age

-Electrics: everything works

-Originality: all original except for the tremolo arm which is a replacement, and some screws and the springs in the back.

 Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: good playability with a good string action of 1,5 mm at the 12th fret. This is a typical specimen of the 1970s low frets, rounded fretboard style of fretboard, much like on the originals.

-Sound: please listen to the video – it’s a very dry, twangy and spanky sound from the pickups.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

-Completely cleaned

-Frets polished and fretboard cleaned/oiled

-Electronics serviced and tested for functionality

-Bridge adjusted, intonation checked and dialed in

-New Pyramid 10 strings put on

-Play test and demo with video

-Setup concluded and ready to be played (just tune it up)

-No case or gigbag included. If you need a case, let me know and I can purchase one for you for the price it costs. The item will be wrapped well, and put into a sturdy cardboard box with lots of filler material. If you wish I can buy a fitting case at your costs.

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
