Title: 1958 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone - Serial #77253 - Original Lacquer - Owned by Tapio "Tuuppi" Tuominen
Description:
A rare opportunity to acquire a true masterpiece: a 1958 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, serial number 77253. This "Five-Digit" horn is from the most coveted era of Selmer Paris production and has remained in stunningly original condition.
Provenance & Condition:
Owned by renowned Finnish jazz saxophonist Tapio "Tuuppi" Tuominen. The instrument has been stored in its case for the last 10 years in a climate-controlled environment.
Original Lacquer: Beautiful natural patina with no re-lacquering or past repairs.
Body: No dents or soldering history. The engravings are remarkably crisp and deep.
Neck: Original era-correct neck (no serial number, which is correct for European-delivery models of this period). Features the stamped Selmer trademark and the iconic engraved "S" logo. No signs of "pull-down" or damage.
Technical Status: Inspected by Master Technician Pentti Heinonen (certified at the Buffet-Crampon factory). Due to long storage, the horn may require a setup or a full re-pad to meet professional playing standards.
Audio Samples:The rich and powerful sound of this exact instrument can be heard on several recordings, including the Wasama-Tuominen Trio. You can find our music on YouTube Music and Spotify to hear this Mark VI in a professional jazz setting.
