Zildjian Soundlab prototype - K Custom Dry Complex II Ride Cymbal. 24. 2998g.
This is one of the rarer cymbals you could find from the modern Zildjian era - Bill Stewarts discontinued signature model.
This one in particular is special because it’s a prototype that somehow got out of Zildjian hands when they were prototyping with Bill, I’ve only seen one other person on the internet who found a 24 prototype. The markings were wiped off when I bought it but you can see the outline of the k logo and soundlab text in the pictures. In fact this seems to be the first 24 they did as you can see the #1 under the bell.
Rivet holes and tape marks were there when I bought it 10 years ago.
This was my main cymbal through college and it’s been played in New York, Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto on all kinds of gigs. I owned a spizzichino and it couldnt beat this thing. So easy to get that stick click, most responsive and multilayered cymbal I’ve played. Check out that shank sound in the video!
No cracks or keyholing.
