At around 100 years old, this mahogany Ludwig snare drum has a round, wet "splat", and chunky attack. It has been refinished and all new hardware has been added with ten tube lugs, claw hook tension rods, and copper plated hoops. The "Super Sensitive Strainer" is from the 70's and does have some missing wires, but is mechanically sound. The solid Ludwig shell sings and is a wonderful drum for an alternate sound in the studio, orchestra pit, or traditional jazz setting.
not sure if this applies to this one:
From the 1927 Ludwig catalog:
"A drum for every occasion is our motto. Here is one for small combinations, for dance orchestras, in the home or school. It is inexpensive, yet contains the best materials and the same care is used in the assembly that is applied to our best models. It is constructed on more economical lines to satisfy the demands of the small orchestra drummer, student or beginner at a moderate outlay."
