Slingerland - 5x14" Radio King 8-Lug, Niles Badge Snare Drum 1962–1964 - Capri Pearl (JL Sling #37)

Vintage early-1960s Slingerland Radio King 5x14" 8-lug snare drum in Capri Pearl. Original Zoomatic throw-off, internal throw off, Niles, Illinois badge, 1-ply maple shell with reinforcement rings, Stick Saver hoops.

The Capri Pearl finish is one of the rarest and most beautiful finishes that Slingerland ever produced. Some of the multiple colors in the Capri pattern have faded slightly but remain very strong.

The internal muffler, snare strainer and all other components all work flawlessly. This snare has a woody tone, excellent resonance, vintage maple shell warmth, and great tuning range.

This is a beautiful and highly desirable early-Niles Radio King in one of the rarest and most beautiful finishes Slingerland ever made. .

There are mild scuffs and scrapes in the finish and hardware visible in the photos. The extender in the butt side is slightly askew, but still allows the snare strings to be pulled evenly across the head. No other issues. New Remo Ambassador heads and snare strings.
