Cherry Red ES-345.

Officially, Cherry Red ES-335 and ES-345 models were shipped starting in 1960. However, due to the popularity of the Cherry Red ES-355, it appears six each of the ES-335 and ES-345 were produced for a guitar show.

This is an extremely valuable 1959 ES-345, retaining its rich red hue.

The ES-345was introduced in 1959 as a variation model of the ES-335, which began shipping in 1958.

From the start, it featured a Varitone switch, stereo wiring, double parallelogram inlays,

and gold hardware, giving it a distinct character and premium feel compared to the ES-335.

It features a Varitone switch offering six preset tone selections.

By utilizing capacitors with different values, it allows switching between standard tones, bright tones with pronounced treble,

and even a nasal, chunky tone.

When the ES-345 debuted, effects pedals were still rare, making it invaluable for achieving a wide range of sounds.

Its appearance also adds a nice accent, enhancing its premium feel.

Features a 16-inch laminated maple body, approximately 42mm nut width, and a comfortably thick grip. One-piece mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard.

Equipped with original PAF pickups.

The front pickup cover shows signs of solder removal, likely to fix phase-out issues.

The wiring has been converted to mono, and the Varitone switch is now functional.

It delivers an exceptionally rich tone with a highly versatile range of sound variations.

Refret and nut replacement have been performed.

Evidence exists that Grover-style tuners were previously installed.

The octave screws for the 1st and 6th strings on the bridge saddle are seized and currently inoperable, though the octave pitch is nearly accurate.
