KORG Professional Modular effects were designed to be a TOTAL effects system, which offers the musician a combination of convenience, flexibility, dependability, and performance not available in previous equipment.

KORG has solved the two major problems which have troubled musicians using effects since music became electric: sound quality and ease of use.

The Professional Modular Effects system can handle virtually any type of guitar, keyboard or other instrument signal with ease, providing a professional level of sound quality typical of expensive rackmount equipment. Careful design and AC powering provide clearly superior dynamic range, noise, distortion, and frequency response.

The different Effects Modules are available individually, so that you can put together exactly the combination of effects that is best for your unique needs. These effects fit into a special Pedalboard which hold four units of your choice. The individual units and the board are designed to work together to optimize sound quality and minimize noise. Therefore you can depend on clear, satisfying results whether you switch on only one effect or several together.

KORG has also solved the mounting problem of traditional effects. KORG Effects Modules slide quickly and easily into the Pedalboard, without fussing of a tangle of signal cables or AC adaptors. The result is compact, lightweight, and extremely portable.

The PME-40X can hold up to four Professional Modular Effects Units, allowing you to put together whatever combination of effects meets your special requirements. The special External Selector (KES-101) allows you to keep using any effects you may already own.

AC Power assures stable operation of units installed in the board. Switching is completely electronic, with no click noise when you press the foot switches. an ALL PASS switch lets you quickly bypass the entire system when you want the "dry" sound without any effects. You'll also appreciate the inverted stereo Outputs which can be used to give a more spacious sound when the Chorus (KCH-301), Flanger (KFL-401) or related effect is used as the last unit in the system. The modular design makes it easy to add new effects and rearrange your system as desired.

The Modules can be fitted with a screw in the back to ensure that they are seated properly and stay stable. The modules normally have a screw come with them, but just in case, I will include FIVE NON-ORIGINAL screws (last picture) that are the size of the original and will work properly with the modules.
