This is a one of the kind - Prototype RS 440 - Rosewood fingerboard on a Modulus Graphite Neck. I've owned it the Guitar for about 18 years. When I bought it, I was told it had been owned by Ibanez endorser, John Bushnell, (know for his ability to leap while playing guitar). True or not? I have no idea, but it makes sense for Ibanez to make these prototypes for their endorsers. Other research says only 5 were made and sold. Own a piece of rare history...
The RS440 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1984.
The RS440 features a birch top on a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include three Ibanez pickups mounted in a black pickguard with a V5 humbucker at the bridge (which can be split with the Duo Sonic switch) and Super 7 single-coils in the neck and middle positions, a Pro Rock'r double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut.
