This is a full-size (4/4) antique violin, Breton model, stamped "BREVETÉ DE SARM" on the back and bearing the original Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy & Cie label inside. Made in Mirecourt, France, likely between the late 19th and early 20th century, this violin is a fine example of traditional French craftsmanship.
The instrument has been restored by our luthier – fully set up, adjusted, and ready to play.
The Breton model was one of the most popular lines produced by J.T.L., known for its durability, strong projection, and warm, rich tone.
No cracks. The top and back are structurally sound. The sound is balanced, open, and resonant.
